It is well known for the Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Temple. Appearance (Prakat din)
of Shri Gajanan Maharaj in Shegaon on 23 February 1878. Shegaon is also known
as the Pandharpur of Vidarbha. Shri Gajanan Maharaj took Mahasamadhi (a saint's
conscious departure from the mortal body) on 8 September 1910, and at the same
place, a temple has now been built.
